Bernadette Peters

 

Bernadette Peters, nee lazzara was born on 28 February the 28th of February, 1948. She is an American singer, actress and children's author. She has appeared on films, television, musical theatre and solo shows, as well as on recorded recordings. Her career spans over six years. She is an acclaimed Broadway actor, having earned seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, receiving three. Four of her Broadway cast albums on which she has performed have won Grammy Awards.



 



 Peters is widely considered to be the most well-known interpreter of the works of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87) and The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
