Amy Carlson

 

Amy Lynn Carlson (born July 7 1968) is an American actress known for her role as Linda Reagan in the CBS police procedural Blue Bloods and as Alex Taylor on the NBC drama Third Watch, and Josie Watts in the NBC daytime soap drama Another World.



 



 Early life



 Carlson was born in Elmhurst in Illinois"DuPage County" IllinoisElmhurst, Illinois] close to Chicago. She was raised in Glen Ellyn in Illinois by her parents, Robert Eugene Carlson and Barbara Jane (Hultman), teachers in the school. Carlson is of Swedish descent , and has roots in Smaland.



 



 Career



 1986-1992: College and early careers



 She came into Hollywood through her work as a background character in the film Lucas which starred Charlie Sheen, Corey Haim, as well as Winona Ryder. Later she followed her older sister Betsy to Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.
